Hill Air Force Base Air Show

Saturday was quite an interesting one for me. To start it all off I got to have a sleepover which has been rare since starting the CNA program. I went to the air show at Hill Air Force Base with 2 of my friends! It was great! They go every year and this was my first. I totally recommend anyone going to it! They have small planes you can sit in, and HUGE, MASSIVE air planes that carry cargo like TANKS or OTHER AIR PLANES inside of it!!! You can walk inside of these, sit in the cock pit, sit in soldier's seats, walk in a helicopter, the whole deal. They have food, and even had a bunch of stands set up giving you a bunch of information on the air planes them selfs, plus all the air force personnel was there at the stands putting helmets on your heads, giving you free plastic models, dog tags etc. I haven't even gotten to the main event yet! You sit and watch them give an air show flying the coolest of the cool planes in all sort of awesome ways. As amazing as this all was, there was a SLIGHT setback. Besides being BANNED from flirting with attractive armed forces, there was RAIN. And rain, and RAIN!!!!! When the clouds got back, they postponed the show and then it REALLY got bad. I don't remember very many times that It has rained so much before! The whole ground was covered in 1/2 inch of water! We were the lucky ones because we brought a HUGE sports umbrella which kept us dry for quite a while. It did not look like it was ever going to let up so after an hour or so we packed up and made a run for it. A mile run for it that is. I was under the umbrella so not a drop of rain touched me. Although, I had the blanket which was equivalent to a SPONGE!! We were sopping wet by the time we got to the car! Despite the moisture, it really was a great experience. Besides, I was told that because of the rain, they hadn't even brought out the actual show, all that I saw was the before entertainment! They plan this months in advance and it comes every 2 years I think, so if you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend going!
warnings if you ever do plan to go:
1. it is very busy, get there early to get a good seat(if your kids get lost, they have a lost parent area where all kids are sent to play games with air force people, and they always announce when a child has been found)
2. bring camping chairs(and umbrellas if chance of rain)
3. bring sunglasses because you are always looking up
4. bring sunscreen
walking INTO the plane itself!!

I am a seminary graduate!!

Goodbye seminary....hello INSTITUTE!! I really got lucky in seminary. I was able to experience all of the different times that they offer. I did 2 years of regular during school seminary, 1 1/2 years of early morning seminary and 1/2 year of after school seminary. Out of all of these, my favourite was definitely early morning. Everyone wanted to be there, which made all the difference! I also was blessed with the best of the best seminary teachers! To name a few: Passey, Savage, Greenwood, Campbell, Coleman, and Savage again! I only wish that I had taken better notes in my journal so that I could look back and see what I learned instead of forgetting it all.
institute here I come!!

dissection days

Well, I think that my dissection days in high school are finally over! I'm not sure yet if I'm excited or disappointed yet. So, to add on to my ever growing list, I have 2 more additions!
1. A pig's kidney
2. A whole rat!
Yeah, well I'm used to organs being previously removed from the animal so the rat dissection actually made me a little grossed out..ya know, having to REMOVE the organs. I won't go into gross details that pleased me because apparently, not everyone finds it fascinating to see what is still inside some of the organs!

Heavenly Help

Okay, something way cool happened to me this weekend and I need to share!
So Thursday night my nerves were up because the next morning I was going to take 2 very big tests to become a CNA. I was going to take both a written and skills test and frankly, I was TERRIFIED. So, the night before I was in the middle of praying when the thought came to my mind that I loaned my scrubs to one of my friends. Essentially that meant that I HAVE NO SCRUBS TO TEST IN!!!!!This is VERY, VERY bad!! I put Heavenly Father on hold while I searched my room in desperate hope for scrubs. I texted my friend in the same class who would not be taking the skills test which required the scrubs until Tuesday. But, it was 10:30 at night and any NORMAL person who had not LOST THEIR SCRUBS would be asleep. I finished my prayer specifically asking for help on finding a pair of scrubs that I could use. The next morning I woke before I usually do(a rare occurrence) When I looked at my alarm clock, I realized that I forgot to SET MY ALARM!!Oh my goodness, I felt watched over! I jumped into the shower wondering what I did to deserve this blessing. After my shower I checked my phone and my friend had texted me back saying that I could borrow her scrubs!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!!! I made sure to thank Heavenly Father and continued on to school. I knew that if I had been helped and blessed so far, he was probably on my side to help me pass. I don't mean to brag but, I think that I totally rocked both tests!!! I could think, I remembered things and wow!! Guys, this was not me!! Yeah I had studied, but I seriously could not have pulled this off by myself! So In about a week or two I find out how I did because my score has to go to the state first. So yeah, life is great with heavenly assistance and I HIGHLY encourage you to ask for some too. :) :) :)

Family weekend of happiness

So, I just had one of the greatest weekends ever! And I would never forgive myself if I didn't blog about it!
Friday I hung out with my best friend Courtney and later on went to the temple with another friend Cami. haha funny stories there alone.
Saturday I  did the regular clinics routine at Draper Rehab Center except this time there was an ALL OUT WAR between all of the CNA's and 2 nerf guns...
I also super-scrubed the ENTIRE living room with our new carpet cleaner! okay, I am a huge nerd about cleaning, I love it to say the least.
Later on, Dad and I went to the temple and we watched the SUPER MOON rise twice! It was fantastic I hope that you got to see it as well.
That evening, Mom took me out to dinner for Mexican which our poor server was exhausted because of Cinco De Mayo.
This is Dolly pretending that she enjoyed the "beach"

Once when Mom joined us on the beach Dolly had a blast!

happiness!
Today, Mom and I drove to a lake in Daybreak with Dolly, and we loved it! I want so badly to take the Grandkids there! Yeah that one was fun because I hadn't changed out of my pj's or even brushed my hair for that matter. You know that term "socially except-able"? well, *ahem* that was NOT me today! Plus, we forgot the dog's leash so we ended up using 2 BUNGEE CORDS that happen to be in the car. haha. The best weekend ever continued through church when the spirit boldly told me to bear my testimony. It came down to knowing that I should have gone up and not or just going. So I went. As I was doing so, I caught sight of my best friend Dominique(who is not in my ward) grinning ear to ear at me and I almost started laughing while I was so close to tears!
Tonight, we got to talk to Anarosa who entered a science fair about various freezing temperatures of different liquids. I am so proud of her!! My goodness, she is one smart girl and I love her so much!
